🎓 Responsibilities:
Teach digital badging classes using the Adobe Creative Suite, ensuring students gain practical skills and knowledge; set up workstations equipped with computers and necessary peripheral devices, including routers and printers; check computer hardware components (such as HDDs, mice, and keyboards) to ensure they are functioning properly; install and configure appropriate software and functionalities according to specified requirements; develop and maintain local networks to optimize performance and ensure efficient operation; ensure the security and privacy of networks and computer systems, implementing best practices and protocols; provide orientation and guidance to users on how to effectively operate new software and computer equipment; organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to users’ work; perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve issues, including repairing or replacing parts and debugging software; maintain accurate records and logs of repairs, fixes, and the maintenance schedule; identify shortages of computer or network equipment and place orders as necessary to ensure adequate supplies and perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by superiors.
🎓 Job Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related qualification (NQF Level 8) with two (2) years of industry experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Certification as an IT Technician, such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified IT Professional, will be an advantage. Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written. Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, along with outstanding organisational and time-management skills. In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks, as well as a solid knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite of products and mastery of various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux, etc.).
All qualifications must be certified by the Police within the last three (3) months, and all foreign qualifications must be validated by the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA). The normal retirement age is 65. Non-Namibian candidates who are deemed suitable for appointment will be offered a contract of five (5) years.
