The Namibian Defence Force (NDF) selection process usually consists of multiple phases that evaluate applicants’ fitness for military duty. The standard steps in the selection process are summarized as follows:

Publicity for hiring:

Periodically, the NDF publishes announcements about recruiting campaigns via their official website, radio, newspapers, and other media outlets.

  • Submission of an Application:

Interested parties must get the application form, complete it, and attach all required paperwork (medical fitness certificate, educational credentials, certified copies of ID, etc.).
Send the completed application to the address listed on the recruitment advertisement or to the assigned recruitment office.

  • First Screening:

Applications are examined to make sure applicants fulfill the fundamental requirements for eligibility (age, nationality, education, health, etc.).

  • Written Assessment:

Those who make the short list are asked to participate in a written exam that evaluates general knowledge, basic literacy, and numeracy.

  • Exam for Physical Fitness:

Those who make it through the written exam must pass a physical fitness test. Running, push-ups, sit-ups, and other exercises to measure physical stamina and strength are typically included in this.

  • Medical Assessment:

After passing the physical fitness test, candidates are subjected to a comprehensive medical check to make sure they are in good health and shape.

Conversation:

Those who pass the medical exam are thereafter invited for an interview. At this point, the candidate’s motivation, readiness for military service, and comprehension of military responsibilities are evaluated.

Background Verification:

  • Final Choice:

A list of candidates who make it through every level above is used for the final selection process. Notified of their selection, the chosen receive instructions on what to do next.

  • Fundamental Military Education:

The chosen applicants go through basic military training, where they learn military etiquette, tactics, physical preparation, and other critical abilities.

Welcome to the NDF!

Candidates are formally admitted into the Namibian Defense Force and assigned to their relevant units upon successful completion of basic training.

It is recommended to visit the official NDF website or get in touch with their recruitment office directly for the most up-to-date and comprehensive information.
