Namibia Defence Force Recruitment 2026: Shortlisted Candidates Called for Military Training
The Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs (MODVA) has officially announced the next phase of the Namibia Defence Force (NDF) recruitment process. Candidates who have been successfully shortlisted are required to report to the NDF Training Establishment (NDF TE) at Osona Military Base between 07 and 09 July 2026 to begin their military training.
According to the announcement, all selected applicants must arrive within the specified reporting period. Authorities have emphasized that no late arrivals will be accepted after the closing date, making it essential for candidates to report on time.
Documents Required for Reporting
Shortlisted candidates must bring their original educational certificates, Namibian National Identity Cards, and Full Birth Certificates for verification purposes. In addition, candidates are expected to provide several certified copies of identity and birth documents, including those of beneficiaries and dependants where applicable.
Additional Preparations
Candidates should ensure they have sufficient personal toiletries for at least three months, along with suitable sportswear, running shoes, and casual clothing for training activities. The NDF has also instructed candidates to open a bank account and apply for a Tax Certificate before reporting. Bank confirmation letters and Tax Certificates should be presented upon arrival, although candidates whose tax applications are still being processed will still be allowed to report.
Important Restrictions
The training establishment has prohibited candidates from bringing food supplies, dangerous weapons, and valuable personal items. Mobile phones, jewellery, cameras, and other electronic devices are strongly discouraged. These measures are intended to maintain security, discipline, and a focused training environment.
Male candidates are required to arrive with shaved heads and clean-shaven faces. They are also advised to bring their own shaving equipment, as sharing personal grooming items will not be permitted due to hygiene and health considerations.
Reporting Schedule
All shortlisted candidates must report to the NDF Training Establishment between 08:00 and 17:00 during the designated reporting period. Only individuals whose names appear on the official shortlist will be attended to. Authorities have further stated that no candidates will be processed after 09 July 2026.
Regional Governors and Constituency Councillors have been requested to assist in informing successful candidates within their respective areas to ensure that all selected applicants receive the notification in time.
Candidates are encouraged to carefully follow all instructions and reporting requirements to avoid any complications during the recruitment and training process.

On March 13, 2005, with a retrospective date of June 23, 2002, His Excellency Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma, the President of the Republic of Namibia at the time and Commander-in-Chief of the Namibian defence Force, commissioned the Air Wing into the Namibian Air Force.
The Namibian Air Force’s duties include protecting Namibia’s territorial air space and making sure it is respected at all times, taking part in land and naval operations, and supporting civil authorities and civil power both during times of peace and conflict. to project air force comparable to the greatest in the area.
3. Namibian Navy :-
The Federation of Brazil and the Republic of Namibia signed a naval cooperation agreement in 1994, marking the beginning of the Namibian Navy’s history. This agreement covers the several sectors in which officers and ratings are to be trained.Ā The Maritime Wing was founded on September 11, 1998, and Hon. Erikky Nghimtina, the Minister of defence at the time, commissioned it as the Namibian Navy on October 7, 2004.
To protect Namibia’s territorial waters, carry out non-combat operations in support of the country’s interests, and undertake naval operations in defence of the Republic of Namibia.
