👨🏻💼 VACANCY: Construction Manager: Heap Leach Project

- Manage all required Project Execution Systems and Procedures, including but not limited to SHE, Project Controls, Procurement and Contracts, Engineering Construction, Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
- Ensure the project objectives, scope and plan are well understood by the project team, contractor and stakeholders.
- Ensure that the approved scope, budget and schedule are established as a control baseline and that effective change management systems are in place to identify, mitigate and manage change.
- Establish and mandate the implementation of all required Project Execution Systems and Procedures.
- Direct the EPC Contractor to ensure the project remains in strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and community regulations, maintaining a zero-harm mandate.
- Provide authoritative technical oversight during the execution phase, managing the interfaces between the EPC Contractor, local resources, and specialized equipment suppliers.
- Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturer’s data and execute project based upon said documentation.
- Provide final technical assurance on all project plans, specifications, and manufacturer’s data to ensure the Heap Leach facility meets approved standards.
- Approve the master project schedule and monitor weekly updates to ensure the EPC Contractor maintains the critical path.
- Develop, evaluate, negotiate and execute a wide variety of different contracts covering a range of transactions.
- Resolve complex contract-related problems or legal disputes that may arise, providing a professional technical basis for any claims or variations.
- Establish and communicate a handover plan to operations, and ensure that roles and responsibilities for technical transfer to the operations are well communicated and understood.
🎓 Job Requirements:
- BSc / BEng or B. Tech in Mechanical, Electrical / Civil Engineering.
- MSc or M.Tech in Engineering will be an advantage.
- Experience in EPC Contractor Management and International Construction Management will an advantage
- Minimum 10 years’ Experience in Construction Project Management, of which 3 years should be in managing and delivering large scale projects (Full Project Cycle).
- Experience in Civil Construction / Project Management.
- Mining industry experience will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge & Experience of Advanced Contract Management (FIDIC – Silver Book).
- Deep knowledge of Heap Leach technology (pad liners, irrigation systems, stacking) will be an advantage.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or related Professional Qualification is an advantage
- Registration with the Engineering Council of Namibia or an equivalent body.
- Valid Code B/BE Construction Manager’s License.
